The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a collaborative national center for fusion energy research. The Laboratory advances the coupled fields of fusion energy and plasma physics research, and, with collaborators, is developing the scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as an energy source for the world.
PPPL has a very exciting and rare opportunity, to join a department during a significant growth period. As Electrical Safety Officer, this position is responsible as the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab’s Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for NFPA 70 and 70E, and for leading the development and implementation of the PPPL electrical safety program, consistent with Laboratory Environment, Safety, and Health policies, DOE requirements, and consensus standards. The objective of the electrical safety program is to ensure safe operations, maintenance and repair to PPPLs vast electrical system and manage associated risks through control of electrical hazards.
