Job Purpose:
Core Duties:
Perform in-process & final inspections of precision machined parts and assemblies as per shop work requests, installation procedures, quality inspection plans, drawings, standards, and technical procedures.
Perform receiving inspections of precision machined parts or items supplied by subcontractors or vendors as per applicable purchase orders, procurement quality assurance clauses, technical specifications, drawings and standards.
Perform audits, surveillances and walkthrough oversight of work activities, and safety conditions.
Perform inspection of fire barrier penetrations and seals and inspections of facilities construction project activities.
Identifies general problem areas that may span many work activities and could potentially impact Lab quality or ES&H, provides management with potential solutions to correct the problems.
Perform vendor on-site source inspection of precision machined or items fabricated as per applicable purchase orders, procurement quality assurance clauses, technical specifications, drawings and standards. Including conducting first articles inspections and vendor on-site site surveillance.
Education and Experience:
In addition to the requirements and certifications stated above, general familiarity with ASME, AWS, IEEE, NFPA and other construction codes is desirable.
