A Qualified NB Cryogenics Operator is able to operate and maintain the Neutral Beam 1070 Watt Helium Refrigerator and additionally operate, inspect, repair, troubleshoot and maintain associated Neutral Beam mechanical systems and equipment. Provide coverage for 24/7 operation including required overtime, night shift, weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
Under general supervision, performs a number of more complex and diversified technical tasks utilizing expertise and knowledge they have acquired. May perform some non-routine tasks requiring independent judgment typically involved with setting up of test apparatus, operation of equipment, and evaluation of the performance and reliability of systems and subcomponents. Follows various Laboratory procedures and applies PPPL prescribed standard technical practices
and principles.
