Under Facilities and Site Services Management, the Manager of Facilities & Maintenance Division is responsible for the daily oversight and management of PPPL infrastructure, utilities, and maintenance staff. This encompasses oversight, troubleshooting and repair/replacement as well as functional operations and improvement of the site wide building systems.
The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a world-class fusion energy research laboratory managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. PPPL is dedicated to developing the scientific and technological knowledge base for fusion energy. The Laboratory advances the fields of fusion energy and plasma physics research to develop the scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as an energy source for the world.
The Manager Facilities and Maintenance Division leads, directs, participates in, and provides insight into the maintenance and improvements of laboratory infrastructure, related system operations, and computerized maintenance management systems that support the complex. Additionally, work order management and preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs associated with HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment as well as general mechanical, operations, minor renovation and operations support. Uses expertise to lead, promote and support Energy Management duties and initiatives. Manages financial budgets, time accounting and staff training associated with these functions.
The individual coordinates with Facilities Management as well as other groups throughout the Laboratory to ensure long-term, safe, and efficient operations of associated building and campus systems.
A proud U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory managed by Princeton University, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a longstanding leader in the science and innovation behind the development of fusion energy — a clean, safe, and virtually limitless energy source. With an eye on the future and in response to national priorities, PPPL also has begun a strategic shift from a singular focus on fusion energy to a multi-focus approach that includes microelectronics, quantum information science, and sustainability science. Whether it be through science, engineering, technology or professional services, every team member has an opportunity to make their mark on our world. PPPL aims to attract and support people with a rich variety of backgrounds, interests, experiences, and cultural viewpoints. We are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility and believe that each member of our team contributes to our scientific mission in their own unique way. Come join us!
