The Emergency Services Unit (ESU) within the Site Protection Office has an immediate opening for Lieutenant/Driver Operator that will lead emergency services officers and perform required security, fire, EMS operational and administrative duties including but not limited to platoon staffing and site-wide inspection management of response systems.
Under the direction of a Captain, performs and directs routine Protective Force (ProForce)/security, fire suppression, rescue, and EMS activities at incidents and during daily operations. May serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), operating within the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as the Operations Section Chief in response to emergency and critical incidents. This position is responsible for ensuring that personnel, equipment, materials, and protective systems are prepared and operational in compliance with established procedures, requirements, and as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Maintains the administrative documentation required to meet DOE and PPPL Policies, Plans and Standards.
Performs the requirements of fire rescue pump operations and apparatus control. In the absence of the Captain, the Lieutenant/Driver Operator shall assume the duties of the Captain including but not limited to supervision of officers, emergency services unit scheduling, and on-scene incident command. Must maintain personal physical standards required to meet the potential rigorous challenges of this position.
