The Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory, a world-leading fusion energy research center under contract with the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE), invites applications for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer. This position will support the PPPL Engineering Collaboration Head in support of the PPPL contributions to the DIII-D National Fusion Facility in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include the design and installation of mechanical devices that inject powders and granules to the DIII-D Tokamak, develop upgrades for high energy neutral beams, perform RF system upgrades, support the operation on the DIII-D facility and maintain an inventory of PPPL property located at DIII-D in San Diego, CA. The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is a hands-on applied engineering role which involves both creative design, light fabrication of parts and assemblies, testing, and experimental operation on DIII-D and potentially other fusion reactors worldwide. The successful candidate will be based in San Diego, CA.
