  • Overview

    Participate in the design, development and operation of state of the art instrumentation and control systems in support of a wide range of current and future projects at PPPL.  

    Responsibilities

     

    • Design, Maintain and Support instrumentation and control systems
    • Daily operation and maintenance of Control and Monitoring System
    • Develop Diagrams, Drawings and Documentation for systems developed
    • Embedded controller development and support

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
    • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
    • Ability to work with a diverse set of scientists, engineers and technical staff with varying skill levels and backgrounds. 
    • Strong organizational skills and communication skills

    Computing Competencies include:

    • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Siemens preferred)
    • PCS7 experience a plus S7
    • Experience working with Digital I/O
    • Experience working with Analog Data acquisition and signal conditioning techniques
    • Experience generating and building to Requirements Documents, State Machine Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams
    • Experience working with National Instruments LabView
    • Exposure to designing and building electronics
    • Exposure to Version control Software (SVN, GIT)
    • Practical experience using standard off the shelf test equipment:
    • Digital Volt Meter
    • Oscilloscope, Logic analyzer
    • Benchtop DC Power Supplies
